Reflection

On Sunday, June 15*", the A.H.Y.A. held its first Father-Kid Play Day at Lilburn Park. It was a fun-filled sports day held in honor of the many committed fathers of the Atlanta Harari Community. Grilled hatal hotdogs and snacks were served as everyone competed in a rigorous game of Dad vs. Son soccer.
The great city of Atlanta hosted the 8th annual Harari Festival, June 30* through
July 4th. Although the festive week started out rocky, it ended on Friday with a jubilant 4th of July soccer game: ATI-Juniors vs. ATL Seniors, with the Juniors as the victors (7-3). Though there were few supporters from other parts of the country, Atlanta Hararis showed their devotion and commitment throughout the entire week. The mothers sold traditional food in the name of Quran Gey, while the fathers philanthropically bought t-shirts and other souvenirs to support  charities, such as Labeyk Baday. This year's Harari Festival must have been the most spirited ever!

Upcoming Events

July 25th through July 27th , the
A .H.Y.A. plans to hold its first

Please contact the A.H.Y.A. for more information on hotel reservations, transportation, and directions. We look forward to seeing you all there, inshallah!

The Community Speaks

"I just want to thank everyone for coming to the 8th Harari Fest, especially everyone from the other states, such as Cali, Toronto, and D.C. We even had families come from Africa... so thanks for your presence and support! I also want to thank Atlanta Yafkah for always being there. You guys are incredible athletes and people. I knew these guys since I could remember. We practiced together, went places together, played together, and we're going to stay together. Yafkah for life! Special thanks to all the ATL parents for everything they did, because without them, nothing would have been possible."

"Love you MOM!"
